Description

In 2021,Toronto’s Local Forum will be held online! It will take place throughout one day, on October 13th.

A full day for students from grades 9 to 12, dedicated to the Canadian Francophonie. Because learning French is useful but can also be fun!

Students will attend a conference given by Gabriel Osson, a Franco-Ontarian author born in Haiti, followed by virtual workshops on a variety of themes. Finally, they will attend an improvisation show by the DaFlo troupe and a closing ceremony.

Toronto’s Local Forum is a must-attend event that puts French culture in the spotlight. Space is limited, so we recommend that you register now!

Guest Speaker: Gabriel Osson, Writer.

Gabriel Osson was born in Port-au-Prince, Haïti and currently lives in Toronto. Actively invloved in Toronto’s francophone community, Gabriel sits on several administrative boards like l’Association des Auteures et Auteurs de l’Ontario français (AAOF) for which he is President and La Coopérative radiophonique de Toronto where he is aministrator. Gabriel has always juggled his various passions with limitless energy. He loves to teach and inspire while making people laugh. Gabriel is also consultant in organizational development and gives conferences on various subjects. 


DaFlo

DaFlo is a duo of comedians composed of Daphney Joseph (Private Eyes, Baroness Von Sketch, Coko & Daphney) and Florian François (Rencontres, Good Witch, Amélie et compagnie). Together, they improvise and play sketches on stage and on screen since 2016. Daphney and Florian regularly perform and teach improv in Ontarian schools and libraries from Toronto to Thunder Bay. Their first video sketch Questionnaire de satisfaction was among the finalists at the TO Sketchfest Film Festival and was broadcast during the festival. The duo is presently developing projects for television.
