Tuesday 19/12/2017 – from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM
Memorial University, St. John’s, NL
In collaboration with Memorial University the French for the Future Local Forum will take place on December 19th 2017 in St. John’s.
Approximately 300 students from our two school districts (The NL English School District and the Conseil scolaire francophone) will spend a day in French on the university campus.
The goal of the 2017 Forum is to promote the activities and opportunities offered by French for the Future. We also want to help students realize that they are already quite good in French which they will see as they participate in workshops about health, culture, history, theatre, music and travel. The workshop facilitators will also encourage the students to stay in French throughout high school.
The organizing committee would like to thank the Department of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures of Memorial University for welcoming French for the Future on campus again this year. This year we are also focusing on programs at Memorial University. Representatives from the various faculties will be presenting their programs and highlighting the advantages of bilingualism in their respective areas of work and study.
