Jacqueline-Bouchard Pavilion of l’Université de Moncton.

Moncton annual French for the Future local forum is celebrating its 10th anniversary! It’s Halloween day so expect great surprises!!

French for the Future’s Local Forum is a full day of activities, including a conference, a choice of ten workshops, a sit-down dinner, and live music (all “en français”, set within a relaxed atmosphere to encourage French conversations and camaraderie). With a solid nine-year background, the organizers as well as the French immersion teachers representing the eight schools of Greater Moncton Anglophone East District (formerly District 2) are looking forward to welcome 200 grade 10, 11 and 12 students to the Forum.

Opening conference guests are Hughie Batherson from Université Saint-Anne, who is more and more known throughout Canada as an energetic motivator for high school students, and Mayor of Moncton Mrs. Dawn Arnold. Mrs. Arnold, an Anglophone from Ontario, has been active in the cultural and political scene in Moncton for many years and is an advocate defender of bilingualism.

A variety of workshops will include Law, Health, Social Work, Sciences, Engineering, and Social Implication will be offered to the 200+ students. A nutritional sit-down dinner will be served followed by live music by U de M Music Department students, some of them Anglophones!

At the end of the day, students will reflect on their experience and will be able to share their views on this all French day outside of class.
