Born and raised in Montreal, Sean has worked in the world of fundraising and development for more than a decade. After graduating from McGill University with a BA in Political Science, he moved to Washington DC where he worked at the Canadian Embassy in their Public Affairs Section, and then Johns Hopkins University’s School for Advanced International Studies. Returning to Canada, Sean has made a home in Toronto, and continued to work in the university sector, first as an academic administrator, and since 2003, as a fundraising professional. He spent twelve years in various roles at the University of Toronto, first with their Division of University Advancement, and then with the Faculty of Law. In 2016 he moved to the Ted Rogers School of Management at Ryerson University where he directs the fundraising activity for Canada’s largest business school.
He’s also spent some time as a carpenter, trains and teaches martial arts weekly at DeSantos Martial Arts Studio, and volunteers with the University of Toronto’s Soldiers’ Tower Committee (helping to organize one of the city’s best Remembrance Day Services at the country’s second largest war memorial: the Soldiers’ Tower at U of T’s St. George Campus).
