Myriam Lafrance

Myriam Lafrance has been working for French for the Future since 2008.  As Program Director, she has played a critical role within the organization and contributed greatly to its growth and vision.

Myriam is Franco-Ontarian.  Completely bilingual herself, she experiences firsthand the advantages of being able to speak both of Canada’s official languages.   Myriam has a Bachelor of Education degree from McGill University and is presently completing a certificate in Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Management at Ryerson University.  Shortly after graduating from McGill University, Myriam spent two years teaching French Immersion to First-Nations students in an isolated village in James Bay.  She later moved to Mexico where she taught in a bilingual (Spanish-English) school for three years.

Myriam is thrilled to be working towards a national goal she truly believes in: to make more students fluent in Canada’s two official languages.
